January Baking Round-Up

So far my new year’s resolutions are off to a racing start. I’ve surpassed my weekly baking goals and managed not to eat too much of it… and I’ve been going to the gym at the same time to try and counteract the extra calories from the taste testing and licking of many bowls and spoons. See below for a recap of my January bakes and makes along with recipes. Enjoy!

Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals

The Book People came into my office this week and as always, I can’t resist buying a recipe book when they visit.

This time I snapped up Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals. I love and live by his 30 Minute Meals so hopefully this one will be equally as satisfying in half the time! Bit sceptical though on how he manages to rustle up such a storm in 15 minutes but we’ll see…

I’ll let you know how I get on. If any reading this has tried any of the recipes let me know how they went and how long they ACTUALLY took 😉

Hopefully his 15 Minute Meals will lead to half as much mess and require half as much washing up too!

Jubilee Recipes

Everyone is going Jubliee CRAZY at the moment and there are so many quaint and charming recipes and nibbles around to celebrate.

I’ll be celebrating her royal highness’ special weekend with a well earned break in Amsterdam but I’ll definitely be recreating this beauty when I get home! Cake fit for a Queen

If you’re having a celebratory tea party or BBQ check out these totally spiffing sandwich ideas and Jubilee inspired trifle from Cath Kidston if in need of ideas: Royal-Tea  Sarnies and Trifle

As we all know, Queenie is quite partial to the odd gin or two so here are some Jubilee cocktails from Hello! magazine: Gin O’Clock

And if you haven’t already tried them, you simply HAVE to get your hands on the little Apple and Rhubarb crumble pots M&S have started doing for their new best of British range. They are the perfect size to quench your sweet tooth after a meal without making you feel like a big fat pig!

And if you’re a bit of a party pooper and prefer to stay home and rustle up an easy snack for one, to crown it all: Jubilee Beans (These would make a brilliant party bag gift to give to guests for anyone holding a Jubilee Party).

Something for everyone!
